Jorasz Family Ranch is a family owned farm in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula.
Andy and Teri bought the property in 2005 and have been improving and growing the herd ever since. Andy has been dairy farming for 40 years, and is the fourth generation of dairy farmers in his family. We benefit from a long farming heritage that began just down the road in Wilson Michigan in 1915. Their original farm, Jorasz Family Dairy, is still going strong and Andy still works there full time.
The fifth generation of Jorasz farmers consists of three daughters, Faith (25), Emily (21), Brianna (13) and a son, Nathan (11) who help us care for all of our beautiful animals. Faith is a daycare director in Escanaba, and is married to Jared Demeuse. They are living here on the farm in our shop apartment. Emily enjoys helping on the farm, and working at Central Dispatch in Escanaba. Brianna just started sixth grade and she loves all her animals and learning about them. Nathan is in fourth grade, is our motor-head and loves anything with wheels. He loves the animals too and does what he can to give us a hand. Brianna and Nathan milk our cows together several nights a week!
Together, we pasture raise 100% grass-fed Angus beef cattle & American Bison, some laying hens, and Brown Swiss cattle. All of our animals have access to green pastures while the Michigan weather allows, and are fed no-bs hay we harvest (all) and supplement grains (hogs/chickens/dairy cows) from our sister farm (Jorasz Family Dairy) in the winter. We keep their diet as close to what nature intended as possible for our climate.
