Protocols and Quality Control

We want to be totally transparent with you all about ALL of the things that we do to make sure that our raw milk is a safe, whole food for you and your family!

In addition to making sure our cows are negative for Johne’s, Brucellosis and TB, we also test our milk for safety.

As we continue our work with the Raw Milk Institute, and collaborate with them on best practices and procedures for raw milk production, these documents will evolve. There is always something to learn or discover, and being affiliated with the institute will keep us ‘in the know’ on everything raw milk!

We also have set up our own, on-farm lab so that we can test our milk more often and use that data to make sure our processes are working as good as they should be. Our lab results are sent monthly to the institute, a requirement to remain LISTED on their site as a verified safe producer of raw milk.

All of these extra safety precautions and documentation is not required by the state of Michigan, but we want to participate to make sure that we are producing the cleanest, safest product possible for our herd share owners!
